3D Model View Modes

General

There are several view modes for models that change the appearance of visible and hidden parts of the model or the entire model itself. If a part is visible, it will be rendered using the visible mode. Conversely if the part is hidden, it will be rendered using the hidden mode. Each model has a currently set visible and hidden mode that is synced with other users as well.

  • Visible modes:

    • Standard

    • Two-tone

  • Hidden modes:

    • Wireframe

    • Invisible

When moving through the model part heirarchy, parts that are above in the heirarchy will be rendered as hidden (only for the local user) in order to facilitate visibility and interaction with the sub-parts

Standard Mode (Visible)

The standard mode renders visible parts in their default model material and is the default visible mode of 3D models.

Two-Tone Mode (Visible)

The two-tone mode renders visible parts as a combination of green and blue shading to create visible contrast in the model. This can be useful for models that do not contain materials and are otherwise rendered as grayscale only.

Wireframe Mode (Hidden)

The wireframe hidden mode renders hidden parts as a transparent wireframe rather than completely invisible. This is the default visibility mode for hidden parts.
